Title: Zen Stories
Post by: Subramanian.R on December 19, 2008, 01:56:50 PM
A monk asked Ummon:  What is Buddha?"
Ummon answered him:  Dried cowdung!

Mummon's Comments:

It seems to me, Ummon is so poor, he cannot distinguish the
taste of one food from another, or else he is too busy to write
readable letters.  Well, he tried to hold his school with dired
cowdung.  And his teaching, for those who could not follow him,
was useless!

Lightning flashes,
Sparks shower for the sky,
In one blink of your eyes,
You have missed seeing!
