Title: How to do Bhakti while in worldly duties?
Post by: Subramanian.R on October 20, 2008, 04:49:24 PM
One day, Annamalai Swami asked Bhagavan, "How to do Bhakti,
while in worldly duties?"

Bhagavan Ramana did not reply anything.  Within ten minutes,
some young girls came to Bhagavan and started dancing 'Kummi',
singing the song:  " We shall churn the curds, without forgetting
Krishna, We shall churn the curds, without forgetting Krishna.."

Bhagavan after the dance, looked at Annamalai Swami and said:
"Oh!  The answer for your question lies in this song.  This is called
Karma Yoga."

Not forgetting that our essential nature is self even while doing worldly duties is Bhakti.

It is just like even while  we are engaged in acting in a drama we never forget our original identity.

Sri Rama Krishna tells how to realize God being a householder

Question: "Sir, can one realize God while leading the life of a householder?"

Sri Ramakrishna: (with a smile): "Why not? Live in the world like a mudfish. The mudfish lives in the mud but itself remains unstained. Or live in the world like a loose woman. She attends to her household duties, but her mind is always on her sweetheart. Do your duties in the world, fixing your mind on God. But this is extremely difficult."
