ramana-maharshi.org, my previous website has been forced to close down after two years of intense pressure. This website, arunachala-ramana.org is the direct replacement for it.
For too long this ramana-maharshi.org was restricted in both its approach and content. I now feel that it is time to offer real and practical help to devotees in addition to the content available for the past ten years. This does not mean that the site will be free from constraints; its core purpose remains the same - to put forward the real and practical teachings of Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi and the other great saints of whom Bhagavan recommended as reading material to devotees.
Bhagavan was a very practical and pragmatic person, as all real Jnani's are, He understood the real problems, both mental and material, facing sadhakas in everyday life and often gave very practical advice on both subjects. He didn't just talk about things, but was a living example of dharma and that example speaks volumes in a very practical way to those who are struggling for perfection.
This site will endeavour to reflect the teaching and example set by Bhagavan. Overall we anticipate a much more informative type of content. In the finality I hope that this site can offer whatever help is needed from every aspect.
A forum has been added for devotees to use and as it grows it should form a helpful resource to both new and old devotees of Bhagavan and Arunachala.
There will be travel information, outside accommodation information, where and what to eat and drink safely, medical information, up-to-date local information, including changes in legal requirements for foreigners, etc. Lots of really useful stuff previously not included on ramana-maharshi.org.
Overall we hope that this change will make the site more accessible for those with disabilities as well as everyone else - CSS is much more user-friendly for the 'page readers' used by the blind.
